But while loving couples were lining up to be married on the auspicious day, to take advantage of the apparent properties the alignment of numbers conferred on significant events, baby Ella was oblivious to it. And her parents and grandparents, from Avalon, weren't thinking about it either -- they were just delighted she was born happy and healthy. It was only later they realised Ella's perfect timing. ToPage2 Liquor licence freeze demand Jesse Phillips IT'S time for a ''line in the sand'' to be drawn in Manly and for a freeze to be put on new alcohol licences and licence ex- tensions in the troubled nightspot, according to Manly Liberal MP Mike Baird and the Manly Safety Committee. The State Government is seeking to introduce the Liquor Amendment (Tem- porary Licence Freeze) Bill 2009, which is strongly supported by Sydney State independent MP Clover Moore, and would for 12 months halt any new alcohol licences for three areas in the inner city. Now the move is under way to have Manly in- cluded in the legislation, which was debated in State Parliament yester- day. Mr Baird, with the unanimous backing of the Manly Safety Committee, which includes com- munity figures Manly Mayor Jean Hay and Police commander Supt Dave Darcy, has written to Premier Nathan Rees asking for the government to extend the freeze to Manly. ''At some stage we have to put a line in the sand and say enough is enough,'' Mr Baird said. ''There is no doubt that over the past 10 to 15 years the number of licensed venues has increased, and while some have been wel- come additions, we have enough licensed premises in Manly.''
